1718 burnley tom anderson 00 500x500Tom Anderson is the latest player to be recalled by Burnley from a loan with Port Vale confirming this morning that the central defender has returned to Turf Moor.

He’s been a regular in the Vale side that is slowly lifting itself from the bottom places in League Two and he’s played 24 times for them with all but two of them, his first and last appearances, being starts.

However, in a brief statement this morning, they reported: “Port Vale can confirm that defender Tom Anderson has returned to his parent club Burnley FC after being recalled from his loan.

“Tom Anderson joined the club on a season long loan on the transfer deadline day in August, however Burnley had the option to recall the defender in January and have decided to exercise that.

“We would like to thank Tom for his efforts whilst at Vale Park, and everyone at the club wishes him the best in the future.”

Anderson’s been on the bench a number of times for us but hasn’t made a debut in the first team although he has now played over 100 league games on loan from the National League upwards, and that’s with seven different clubs.
