The draws have been made for both the Lancashire Senior Cup and Lancashire Youth Cup semi-finals and we’ve been given an away tie in both competitions.

Our reward for beating Fleetwood and AFC Fylde in the Senior Cup, the first of them on penalties, is a trip to either Morecambe or Wigan although we will have some wait to learn who our opponents will be with their quarter-final game not scheduled until 30th January 2020.

That is the only game still to be played in that round with both Preston and Blackburn through and set to play in the other semi-final with North End having home advantage.

Should our opponents be Wigan, that will see us play them in both competitions having been drawn against them in the Lancashire Youth Cup and it couldn’t have been a tougher draw given Wigan are currently clear leaders in the U18 Professional Development League although we did record a 3-0 win there back in September.

Four other teams remain in the competition with the draw pairing Bolton or Rochdale, who will be the home team, against Morecambe or Fleetwood.
