1718 burnley connor king 01 500x500Connor King, now one of three goalkeepers in the development squad at Turf Moor, has joined Barnoldswick Town on a work experience loan deal and will now be available for them in the North West Counties Premier Division.

The 18-year-old has just graduated from the youth team, where he was captain last season, and had a very good season in 2016/17 when the young Clarets came so close to lifting the Youth Alliance League trophy in what was our last season in the competition.

The terms of the deal means he will continue to train with Michael Duff’s squad and he would be available for our under-23 games if required but will add to that by being a member of Danny Craig’s squad at Barnoldswick.

Craig told the Barnoldswick club’s website: “It goes without saying he comes with fantastic pedigree and both the club and I feel proud and honoured to be trusted with this vital stage in his development.

“I couldn’t be happier with this signing. I’m looking forward to working with him and watching him develop at our club.”

Connor has been with the Clarets for six years and recently signed a third year scholarship deal to keep him at Burnley for the 2017/18 season.

Besides being able to call on King, Burnley will also have both Conor Mitchell and Aidan Stone as members of the under-23 squad.
