Barton to depart Rangers
Joey Barton’s time at Rangers appears to be over with news this evening that his contract is to be terminated with confirmation expected tomorrow.
Last week, after a seven week suspension, he was allowed back to the club but forced to train with the young players and was even given a security escort from his car to the dressing room having not been allowed to park alongside the other players.
It looked as though they were going out of their way to humiliate him after clearly having failed despite all efforts to find a reason to sack him.
Earlier today came news that Joey trained once and has since been off with stress but that’s been followed by the news that Rangers and the player have finally agreed to part company with his contract due to be terminated by mutual consent leaving him free to find a new club in the next transfer window.
Barton joined Rangers last summer from Burnley on a two year deal but the problems started when he was involved in a heated exchange in discussions following a big defeat at Celtic. That led to the long suspension as it became obvious he wouldn’t play another game for them.Share this page :
