1112 burnley brian jensen 00 300x300Former Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen has moved to Northern Ireland and signed for Crusaders having left his role as goalkeeper coach at Mansfield Town.

Now 41, Jensen has been hailed as a major coup for the club who will be without the services of regular goalkeeper Sean O’Neill for the first four months of next season as he recovers from surgery.

Jensen said on joining the club: “I am delighted to sign for Crusaders and I look forward to getting involved with pre-season and getting to know the lads. I have heard good things about them from Michael Dougherty and I just now want to get the shirt on and show what I can so.”

Crusaders chairman Stephen Bull added: “It is a quality signing and we know what this will do for Crusaders Football Club. It is not every day a professional of this calibre is offered and we had no hesitation in getting Brian over to sign the one year deal.”

Prior to Mansfield, Jensen played for Bury and Crawley having left Turf Moor four summers ago after ten years with the Clarets during which time he made over 300 appearances.
