What has been described as a very young Burnley side were on the wrong end of a big scoreline this afternoon against a Carlisle reserve team at Gawthorpe.

Carlisle were 2-0 up inside the first six minutes with two Derek Asamoah goals and that became 4-0 before a quarter of the game had been played with former Burnley player Joe McKee scoring twice.

We did pull one back in the second half when Nashé Chakwana scored from close range after a Brad Jackson effort had been parried by the goalkeeper, but Asamoah completed his hat trick with three minutes to go, leaving Burnley on the wrong end of a 5-1 scoreline.
