1718 burnley nashe chakwana 00 500x500Having moved above Barnsley and off the bottom of the Professional Development League four days ago, Burnley have won the battle between the two this afternoon with a comprehensive 3-0 win to make it six wins in the last ten games.

It took us until the 70th minute to break the deadlock but six minutes later we led 3-0 to secure the points and take us four points clear of Barnsley with us both having just two games to play.

Youth team player Jordan Cropper had just come on as a substitute when he got down the right and saw his cross shot fly into the far top corner of the net. Three minutes later, Tinashe Chakwana (pictured) ran onto a flick on from Ntumba Massanka to dink the ball over the home goalkeeper and he got his second and Burnley’s third on 76 minutes when he hit a shot into the bottom corner having collected the perfect pass from left-back Ali Koiki.

The Barnsley team included a number of trialists while Burnley again included Teddy Perkins, Josh Benson and Mace Goodridge who have been with us on trial now for a few weeks. Anthony Glennon, from Liverpool, who has played in the youth team, was also in the side as was an unnamed trialist who Up the Clarets believe to be 18-year-old forward Rob Harker from Bury who has made a couple of appearances in their first team in the Football League Trophy.

The teams today were;

Barnsley: Trialist, Louis Wardle, Sam Fielding, Trialist, Ben Williams, Louis Walsh, Will Smith, Trialist, Amir Berkovits, Victor Adeboyejo, Trialist. Subs: Harry Gagen, Tommy Willard, Danny Greenfield, Trialist.

Burnley: Conor Mitchell, James Clarke, Teddy Perkins, Oliver Younger, Ali Koiki (Anthony Glennon 77), Tunde Bayode (Jordan Cropper 68), Josh Benson, Mace Goodridge, Tinashe Chakwana, Trialist (Christian N’Guessan 68), Ntumba Massanka. Subs not used: Aidan Stone, Scott Wilson.
