Bob Lord: Burnley Born and Bred
The new book Bob Lord of Burnley co-written by Mike Smith and Dave Thomas was recently published and next month an exhibition will be opened at Towneley Hall.
The exhibition, entitled Bob Lord: Burnley Born and Bred, will be officially opened on Friday 4th October before opening to the public on the following day. It will remain open until Saturday 29th February 2020.
The exhibition focuses on the life of Bob Lord and his many roles as businessman, Burnley FC chairman and his roles working for the Football League and Football Association. It is very much Mike’s work and it includes panels and photographs alongside a superb ten minute video presentation which will run in the gallery.
The launch, a week on Friday, is at 10:45 for 11 a.m. and Dave has invited Up the Clarets members to the launch but has asked that you EMAIL him if you wish to attend. The Mayoress of Burnley will be in attendance and a number of former players have received an invitation.
Mike and Dave are indebted to Mike Townend and Robert Drake for hosting the exhibition at Towneley Hall.
