The Professional Development League is three weeks old, all teams have played three times and Bolton Wanderers are the only one of the twenty teams to have a 100 per cent record while Colchester United are now on their own looking for a first point of the season.

Again, as with the U18 League, we are looking at the results from the last two weeks and just like the younger league, it was south teams at home in the first of them and north teams at home in the week which finished yesterday with games at Burnley and then Bolton.

There were only two wins for the north teams away from home, those for Bolton and Leeds at Colchester and Millwall respectively, but four wins in the latest set of fixtures for Birmingham, Nottingham Forest to add to us and Bolton who both won 2-1 yesterday.

No review can be complete without mention of the Ipswich v Hull game a week last Monday. It produced a result that’s hardly likely to be beaten all season with Ipswich securing an 8-0 win against the East Yorkshire side which saw Danny Rowe grab a hat trick and Ben Morris, who has now netted a total of four goals, score twice.

For Michael Duff’s team, it has been a steady start with two home wins, yet it could have been even better having relinquished a 2-0 lead at Coventry in our only away game to date. No team has more than six points in the south, but in the north we trail both Birmingham and Leeds by a point and, of course, are three points behind Bolton.

Next week we travel to QPR who have neither won nor lost this season. They have drawn all three games. That game will be played on Monday afternoon and is currently scheduled to be played at Loftus Road.

The League Tables will be updated as results are confirmed and can be found with our Fixtures and Results in U23/U18 Stats on the top menu.
