Last week’s 3-1 win against Hull took our youth team into second place in the U18 Professional Development League and we are back in league action tomorrow at Gawthorpe when Bolton Wanderers will be our visitors.

Tomorrow’s opponents Bolton ended last season in second place in the north group table and they were beaten just six times all season, the least of any team in the league. They haven’t started quite as well this season and have already lost five of the nine games they’ve played. They currently sit in ninth place, although they could move up a few places should they win tomorrow.

Bolton won this fixture last season. We kicked off the season with a home defeat against Watford but then went on a run of seven games unbeaten until Bolton came to Gawthorpe and beat us 1-0.

They scored the goal with a stunning free kick but it was a game we shouldn’t have lost. We had more than enough chances but too often failed to take them while the Bolton goalkeeper was in outstanding form.

The game saw new signing Jordan Barnett (pictured) make his debut. Jordan had come from Penistone Church but left us at the end of last season and is now playing for Barnsley under-23s.

Kick off tomorrow at Gawthorpe is back to the usual 11 a.m.
