We’re back to Curzon Ashton this afternoon for the home game against Sheffield United in the Professional Development League and Sean Dyche all but confirmed after Saturday’s game at Manchester City that Robbie Brady will play a full ninety minutes.

“Robbie is close now, but not quite there yet,” Dyche said on Saturday. “He’ll probably play on Monday, and if gets through that ninety, great news, that means he’s very close then.”

We come up against a Sheffield United side who have dropped to third in the table over the last few days, courtesy of both Leeds and Bolton winning games on Friday and Saturday respectively, but they are likely to play an experienced team and will certainly looking to get back into second place behind Leeds on goal difference.

We dropped a place too on Saturday and are now sixth but a win for us will take us back above Sheffield Wednesday while a defeat could see us drop one place.

Last season, in the same week, we went to Curzon Ashton on the Monday after the first team had been beaten at Manchester City to play Sheffield United. Dwight McNeil scored an outstanding goal for us but things didn’t go well that night with the Blades winning the game 6-1 which included a hat trick for Tyler Smith. He won’t feature today. He ended last season as the third highest scorer in the league but is currently out on loan at Barrow.

Kick off today is 2 p.m. at the Tameside Stadium.
