Burnley confirm Barton signing
Joey Barton is now officially back at Burnley. The club have confirmed that he has signed a contract with us until the end of the season following detailed discussions with his advisors regarding the recent charges brought against him.
The Premier League let it slip this morning via their website that the registration had gone through, and that’s now been confirmed by the club, that it was all done in time for today’s game at his former Manchester City which allowed him to serve his one match SFA suspension. That will leave him free to be in the squad for the FA Cup tie at Sunderland this Saturday.
Joey’s ill fated stay at Rangers has been more than well documented over the past few weeks and months, but he’s a Burnley player again now and it’s great news to have back with us a player who was such a driving force behind our promotion last season.
