1718 burnley jordan cropper 00 500x500Having got back to winning ways last week with a 1-0 victory against Sheffield United at Gawthorpe, the youth team face an away game tomorrow against U18 Professional Development League North Group leaders Nottingham Forest.

And it is very likely to be a very young side given the players from the under-18 group who have been involved in the two under-23 games this week, both the behind closed doors friendly against Oldham and the league game last night against Barnsley at Curzon Ashton.

Central defenders James Clarke, Scott Wilson and Oliver Younger all featured last night while Dwight McNeil had played earlier in the week. Leighton Egan is now playing on loan for Clitheroe and he’s likely to be in the squad for their home game against Hyde United and Michael Fowler is recovering from surgery.

Forest, meanwhile, went top last week with a 3-2 win at Crewe but lead us by just one point in this tightest of leagues.

For one Burnley player it will be, in some ways, a home game. Jordan Cropper (pictured) is from Nottingham and was with Forest prior to signing for the Clarets. He played at right back there, and was in that position last week, but has more often been used by Burnley as a striker.

Tomorrow’s game is at the Nigel Doughty Academy and kicks off at 12 noon.
