Norwich City’s former Leeds United midfield Jonny Howson is the latest player to be linked with the Clarets this close season with reports from Norfolk suggesting we’ve made an enquiry for the player.

Howson joined Norwich from his home town club Leeds over five years ago but it’s thought that he’s keen to return to the north of England with Leeds believed to be set to take him back to Elland Road.

He started his career with Leeds and played for them on 225 occasions before signing for Norwich in January and where he’s got almost 190 more games under his belt. Over 100 of those games have been in the Premier League and reports have suggested that Burnley will have the pulling power with us being in the top league.

Leeds, however, still look the most likely destination with new owner Andrea Radrizzani having made him his number one summer target.

Howson has twice played at Turf Moor. Both were for Leeds and both in games where they came from behind to beat us.

He scored the winner in the first of them in 2010/11. After Brian Easton and Jay Rodriguez had given us a 2-0 lead, goals from Max Gradel and Luciano Becchio saw Leeds draw level before Howson scored late in the game.
