1516 burnley tom anderson 00 630x420Central defender Tom Anderson joined Chesterfield on loan on the last day of the last transfer window and went on to make 18 league appearances for them with some very positive comments coming back to Turf Moor of his performances.

There were suggestions that they might be keen to take him back next season on a season long loan deal and chief exec Chris Turner, the former Sheffield Wednesday manager, has now confirmed this.

Tom was one of the outstanding players as they survived relegation under Danny Wilson meaning another season in League One for the Spireites and Turner has said: “There’s a bit of wheeler dealing to be done and we’ve highlighted a number of players that we can loan for a season. We are exploring all those angles. Tom Anderson is on that list.

“Tom did fantastic for us and with Burnley going up to the Premier League, without being disrespectful to Tom, I think first team football there next season will be difficult for him so Burnley will probably loan him out again.

“He enjoyed his time here and played well and I’m sure Danny is looking at him to return next season.”
