1819 burnley joe hart signs 1 500x500The Manchester United fans baited Joe Hart with chants of City Reject in our last Premier League game but, despite United winning the game and scoring twice, Hart was voted our best player in the game.

He conceded two goals in the first half but it could have been worse but for his goalkeeping which included a penalty save from Paul Pogba in the second half, making the French international midfielder look somewhat foolish.

Hart was an easy winner of both the man of the match vote and the player ratings. For the man of the match he polled 51% of the vote, ahead of teenager Dwight McNeil who took second place with a 27% share. James Tarkowski and Phil Bardsley were third and fourth respectively, both winning 5% of the vote with Tarkowski securing two more votes than Bardsley.

It was the same top three in the player ratings. Hart scored 7.56 out of 10, followed by McNeil with 6.51 and Tarkowski with 6.44. This time it was Jeff Hendrick in fourth place; he scored 6.11 out of 10.

This gives Hart ten points towards the Up the Clarets Player of the Year with six points for McNeil, four for Tarkowski and one each for both Bardsley and Hendrick.

It’s given an interesting look to the table now with three players sharing first place on 33 points – they being Jack Cork, Hart and Tarkowski. Hendrick remains fourth with 24 points, nine fewer than that top three.

That’s it, we’ve caught up, and now await the next vote which will be underway on Sunday evening following the Wolves game.
