Clarets agree Liverpool switch
The switching of Burnley’s Premier League fixtures against Liverpool has now been confirmed with Burnley agreeing to Liverpool’s request to switch the game due to ongoing work with the new stand at Anfield.
Burnley confirmed: “Having given this our full consideration, with the full involvement and agreement of manager Sean Dyche, and having secured benefits to the club, we have granted permission for a reversal of the fixtures.
“Burnley Football Club fully appreciate this fixture swap may cause some inconvenience to a number of supporters, for which we apologise. However, we would like to reiterate that following the unusual nature of this particular set of circumstances, fixtures are always subject to change.”
Burnley will now face Liverpool at home on Saturday 20th August 2016 with the Anfield clash now on Sunday 12th March 2017, kicking off at 4 p.m. although this is still subject to television scheduling.
