1516 burnley tommy wood 00 630x420Burnley have three games still to play in this season’s Youth Alliance League with the first of them tomorrow when we face Preston at Gawthorpe.

In what has been a difficult season, we will actually be looking to complete a double having won the away game back in November by a 3-0 scoreline in which Tommy Wood (pictured) scored the opener and Khius Metz scoring twice.

Preston are another team we’ve more often than not expected to see towards the top of the Youth Alliance League but they too have had a disappointing two or three seasons although they do currently sit sixth in the league with two games still to play.

Last season we suffered a 4-0 defeat against them in the home game. That was a reverse of the result in 2013/14 when we beat them 4-0 with goals from Evan Galvin, Nathan Lowe, Waqas Azam and Brad Jackson. We completed the double over them in that season with Ntumba Massanka scoring in the 1-0 away win.

Kick off tomorrow at Gawthorpe is 10:30 a.m. some thirty minutes earlier than usual.
