Khius Metz opened the scoring

Burnley have this afternoon beaten Chinese Super League club Hangzhou Greentown 2-1 in what has been billed as an international friendly game.

As yet no details of the game, such as venue or team news, have been released but, after a goalless first half, Burnley went into a two goal lead through Khius Metz, back from injury, and Jamie Thomas in the first ten minutes of the second half.

Metz scored less than three minutes into the second half, getting through the Hangzhou defence to slot home and on 55 minutes it was 2-0 when Thomas scored from the penalty spot.

Hangzhou pulled on back with 14 minutes remaining but the game ended with the Clarets winning 2-1.

 

EDIT: The game was played at Gawthorpe and the Burnley team has now been confirmed as: Conor Mitchell, Arlen Birch, Jimmy Dunne, Taofiq Olomewewe, Kwasinkosi Mpofu, Brad Jackson, Tyler Shrimpton, Freddy Yao, Tristan Jumeau (Leighton Egan 83), Jamie Thomas, Khius Metz (RJ Pingling 72). Sub not used: Connor King.
