Speculation this morning is linking Burnley with a move for pacy winger Yeni Ngbakoto who has, to date, played his entire career with Metz in his home country of France.

As a youngster, there was interest from clubs such as Chelsea, Spurs and Barcelona, but having come through the youth academy at Metz, he signed his first professional deal with Metz in June 2009, a five year contract.

Just over a year later, he made his league debut against AC Ajaccio. He started the game and played over 90 minutes before being substituted in stoppage time. Soon after, he scored his first goal and he’s gone on to net 40 goals for Metz in 140 appearances. He’s been capped by France at under-17 and under-18 level.

This morning, reports in London have suggested that QPR, who have been trying to sign him, were hoping to complete the transfer today but were facing competition from Wolves. West London Sport have reported: “Rangers have spent several weeks trying to negotiate a deal to sign the 24-year-old and looked set to get their man.

“But there is late interest from Wolves who are looking to spend heavily following a recent takeover by a Chinese group and this week gazumped QPR to sign Iceland forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.”

Suggestions this morning at that Burnley are in talks with him and could take a step ahead of both QPR and Wolves because the player is keen to play in the Premier League.

This one may be one to watch.
