Clarets welcome new scholars
Burnley’s academy players are back or pre-season training today and yesterday there was a welcome for the 13 new first scholars who will be joining the second year scholars to form this season’s youth team.
Our second year scholars are Adam Bruce, James Clarke, Leighton Egan, Tristan Jumeau, Sam Layton, Dwight McNeil, Kwasinkosi Mpofu, Scott Wilson, Marcel Wusiewicz and Oliver Younger.
The new first year scholars we are welcoming are Kai Calderbank-Park, Jordan Cropper, Michael Fowler, Will Harris, Ethan Kershaw, Dylon Meredith, Dan Moss, Terry Mupariwa, Akin Samms, Richard Taylor, Bobby Thomas, Oscar Woods and Kian Yari.
A number of these players have come through from the under-16s and featured in the youth team last season.
Up the Clarets would like to wish all of the new players the very best for a long and successful career at Burnley Football Club.
The youth team are eagerly awaiting their fixtures for the new season as we step up into the Professional Development League for the first time having acquired EPPP Category 2 status.
