Cotterill follows Coyle back in work
Yesterday, Owen Coyle was appointed as the new manager of Ross County and today, Steve Cotterill has become the new manager of Birmingham City.
Having managed Cheltenham and Stoke prior to landing the Burnley job, he went on to manage Notts County, Portsmouth and Nottingham Forest prior to taking the job at Bristol City.
Lee Carsley, who has been in caretaker charge, will become his assistant with Paul Groves, with whom he worked at Portsmouth, and Kevin Hitchcock also continuing in their roles as first team and goalkeeper coach.
Cotterill had previously worked at Birmingham at the end of last season, coming in as number two to Harry Redknapp for the last three games during which they won twice to avoid relegation. He declined the opportunity to continue this season but now returns as Redknapp’s replacement.Share this page :
