jimmy macJimmy McIlroy’s funeral will be held at Turf Moor tomorrow afternoon and late yesterday afternoon the club released details as to how supporters can pay their final respects.

Jimmy’s funeral cortege will pass along Harry Potts Way ahead of the service in the James Hargreaves Stand, between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m. The road will be closed to traffic from midday and supporters will be welcome to line Harry Potts Way. There will also be a barriered position in front of the Jimmy McIlroy Stand.

Following the service, at approximately 2 p.m., the cortege will again pass along Harry Potts Way. Jimmy’s final journey will take him along Yorkshire Street, Centenary Way, Manchester Road and Rossendale Road to a private burial at Burnley Cemetery.

Burnley Football Club have also confirmed that the players will be wearing black arm bands tonight for the home game against Olympiacos and that will be repeated for the Manchester United game this Sunday which will be preceded by a minute’s silence.

The thoughts of Up the Clarets remain with his son Paul, his daughter Anne and families along with Jimmy’s other family members and friends.
