Dyche and Vokes nominated as Clarets lead the way again in March
Sean Dyche won the February Manager of the Month Award with Ben Mee one of the four nominated for Player of the Month, and with the Clarets leading the way again in March we have seen Dyche receive another nomination along with Sam Vokes.
I suspect Dyche might be second favourite this time. We won ten points from our four games, dropping two against Wolves with that stoppage time goal in the last game of the month, but Rotherham’s Neil Warnock has also taken his team to ten points and that, given Rotherham’s perilous position at the beginning of the month, could win him the award.
Steve Evans had a good month with Leeds; their nine points has seen him awarded but Chris Hughton, who steered Brighton to eight points, has been overlooked with Cardiff’s Russell Slade the fourth nominee despite his side finishing the month in ninth place, albeit behind three other clubs on goal difference. It’s a strange one given Charlton, under the management of Jose Riga, also won the same number of points.
Three of the players nominated have come from the same clubs as the manager nominations with Rotherham’s Lee Frecklington and Marco Antenucci joining Vokes alongside Tom Lees of Sheffield Wednesday.
Sam has been in outstanding form and scored four goals in the month. He opened the scoring at Fulham, later adding a second from the penalty spot and followed that up with our second goal in the 3-1 win at Huddersfield. His fourth goal, a contender for his best of the season, was the one that gave us the lead against Wolves in that draw almost three weeks ago.
The results will be announced tomorrow morning.Share this page :
