Kyle Lafferty could be lining up against his first club Burnley very soon having signed today for Birmingham in a loan deal until the end of the season.

Lafferty is currently on international duty with Northern Ireland and was concerned at his lack of playing time at Norwich this season, but he’s joined the Blues until 31st May which will allow him to play in the end of season play-offs should Birmingham finish the season in the top six.

He joined Burnley in the summer of 2004 and was in the first team squad by the start of the 2005/06 season, making his debut on the opening day of that season as a substitute and making his first start in a home game against Reading in March 2006. He left Burnley for Rangers in the summer of 2008 after an interview with the Belfast Telegraph when he was very critical of life at Turf Moor under manager Owen Coyle.
