1718 burnley phil bardsley 02 1000x500Burnley have confirmed that Phil Bardsley will remain at Turf Moor next season having played enough Premier League games to have triggered a one year extension.

Bardsley has started 19 Premier League games this season which is exactly half of the games in a season and that, presumably, is the point at which the extension was triggered.

Having played for us towards the end of the 2005/06 season on loan from Manchester United, he returned to Burnley from Stoke in July 2017 and has played 32 Premier League games in the last two seasons and that would likely have been more had he not suffered the recent training ground injury which cost him his place in the side after the 2-0 home win against Wolves.

He’ll now be a Burnley player until the end of the 2019/20 season.
