Four days to go to start of UTC Fantasy Premier League
Liverpool and Norwich City kick off the 2019/20 Premier League season in four days time and one hour before the 8 p.m. kick off comes the shut down for week 1 in the Up the Clarets Fantasy Premier League.
If you are in from week 1, that’s when you will have to get your squad finalised, you team selected and entered for the first week of fixtures and it looks like being another good year for the game with the prize fund currently at £315 which is just about the figure it was at last year on the Monday ahead of kick off.
Want to select Burnley players? If so, you can have a maximum of three and Nick Pope, valued at £4.5 million, might be a good start. He didn’t play in the Premier League last season but won 152 points in 2017/18 and that’s a total beaten last season only by Alisson, Ederson and Jordan Pickford.
Three of our players reached three figures last season with Chris Wood leading the way with 131. Striker partner Ashley Barnes wasn’t far behind; he had 122 points while midfielder Ashley Westwood reached a total of 111. Our players remain good value; you can sign either of our strikers for £6.5 million and Westwood will cost you a million less.
Once your squad and team are selected, all you have to do is join the Up the Clarets League which again is supporting the Burnley FC Academy. £5 from each entry will be added to the prize fund with the remaining money donated to the Up the Clarets Youth Foundation.
It’s all good fun and hopefully we’ll have enough entries again this year to give out prizes for the top three and the managers of the month. All for the price of £10 per team (£10.60 if paying via Paypal).
