Gibson has surgery but good news on Defour and Brady
Sean Dyche revealed a week ago that central defender Ben Gibson was due to see a specialist and one week on has confirmed that the £15 million signing from Middlesbrough has had successful hernia surgery.
It’s expected that he’ll be out for a number of weeks, similar to James Tarkowski who was fit for the return to pre-season training after having his surgery having pulled out of England training prior to the World Cup.
But there is good news relating to the two long term injury victims Steven Defour and Robbie Brady. Defour came through almost an hour of Monday’s under-23 game and Dyche told the media this afternoon that both of them were taking part today in a behind closed doors training game.
Neither will be under consideration for Saturday’s game against Bournemouth, but clearly both are edging ever closer to a return to first team action.Share this page :
