Martin O’Neill has today called up Burnley pair Jeff Hendrick and Stephen Ward for their World Cup qualifier against Austria in Vienna on 12th November.

There has been no report of Ward’s injury that forced him off at Old Trafford just before half time but Ireland have confirmed that, besides four players being ruled out, several more players will be assessed by the medical staff when they report next Monday.

As always, O’Neill has named a provisional squad which will be reduced before they travel to Austria on 10th November.
