Sean Dyche might still, with some bookmakers, be favourite to become the next Premier League manager to leave his job, but that should not be the case at all.

The panic started yesterday as his odds shortened, following speculation, for the Aston Villa job. While Steve Bruce remained the favourite, Dyche was closing in as second favourite and the two were getting closer.

Rightly, there was no comment from either the manager or the club but as concerns grew it was reassuring to hear on Sky Sports News, the very place where the rumours had started in the first place, that Sean wasn’t interested in the Villa job and wished to remain in the Premier League at Burnley.

That put an end to it, but for those who still had some concerns that he would be swapping our claret and blue for Villa’s, they’ve ended today with Villa confirming the appointment of Steve Bruce who has been out of work for only a short time since leaving Hull, a club still without a permanent manager themselves.

So Sean Dyche continues as Burnley manager where he is just over two weeks short of completing four years at Turf Moor.
