1516 burnley lukas jutkiewicz 00 630x420Derby County and one Premier League club have continued to try and hijack Birmingham’s attempts to sign Lukas Jutkiewicz on a permanent basis but they look to have failed with suggestions in the West Midlands that the striker’s move to St. Andrew’s is close.

Although no deal could go through until January, it was reported yesterday that Juke was on the brink of sealing the move to the club where he’s been on loan since August and scored five goals as he’s fought his way back from the cruciate ligament injury which ruled him out for virtually the whole of last season.

It’s thought the deal will be valued at £1 million for a player who would be out of contract at the end of this season and such is the situation that our manager Sean Dyche has today told the Burnley Express: “There is something in the offing so we’ll find out more soon. There is something that is building up that might get there. We’ll see.”

Dyche added: “He’s been a good individual to have around the place and he’s been good with the players, but he wanted to play regular first team football. I thought that was best for him as well as us. He’s gone out and I think he’s enjoyed his time there.”
