Limb goal wins game at Witton
Burnley beat Witton Albion 1-0 tonight in a pre-season friendly for the under-23 team. The only goal of the game came just before half time when Mark Howarth found Harry Limb who scored with a superb shot from just outside the box.
The team included a trialist who was withdrawn at half time and Michael Duff made a further five changes in the first ten minutes of the second half.
The Burnley team was: Conor Mitchell, Luke Hendrie, Harry Flowers, Alex Whitmore (Arlen Birch 55), Trialist (Ali Koiki ht), Robbie Leitch (Christian N’Guessan 55), Aiden O’Neill, Mark Howarth (Rahis Nabi 55), Nashé Chakwana, Khius Metz (Tommy Wood 46), Harry Limb (Jamie Thomas 53). Sub not used: Kai Calderbank-Park.
The under-23s are next in action this Friday with a friendly against Brocton from whom we have signed goalkeeper Aidan Stone, who was with the first team at Preston tonight, and Flowers.
