Loan players return in u-23s win
Burnley have beaten West Bromwich Albion 3-0 this afternoon in a behind closed doors friendly in the West Midlands with all three goals coming in the second half.
The Clarets’ team included four players who have recently returned to the club following loans with Alex Whitmore (Morecambe), Tom Anderson (Chesterfield), Aiden O’Neill (Oldham) and Ntumba Massanka (Wrexham) all in the starting line up for the fixture.
It was just past the hour when Dwight McNeil (pictured) gave us the lead with a goal from close range and then two in three minutes with under twenty minutes remaining completed the scoring.
We doubled our lead when a West Brom defender turned a pass from Jamie Thomas, meant for Dan Agyei, into his own net and three minutes later Thomas added number three having been played in by one of the two trialists in the team, the other being a goalkeeper who could well have been new signing Aidan Stone.
The Burnley team was: Trialist, Alex Whitmore, Jimmy Dunne, Tom Anderson, Ali Koiki, Arlen Birch, Aiden O’Neill, Trialist, Dwight McNeil, Ntumba Massanka, Dan Agyei. Subs: Tony Aghayere, Jamie Thomas, Tommy Wood.Share this page :
