Former loan player Josh McQuoid, who we brought in from Millwall, has today had his contract with Luton Town cancelled and signed a short term deal with Aldershot Town.

He hasn’t played a league game for them since October 2016. He spent the second half of last season with Stevenage and he’d only recently returned to Kenilworth Road having been on loan with Torquay during the first half of this season.

Soon after, Aldershot confirmed the signing of the 28-year-old winger on a deal until the end of the season. “I’ve played against Aldershot Town a couple of times this season and they play good football, and with their league position it was a no-brainer for me,” McQuoid said.

He was well known to our manager Eddie Howe when he came to Burnley having been at Bournemouth prior to signing for Millwall and he returned to Bournemouth later that year, staying there for three more years before signing for Luton in 2015.

He made his Burnley debut against Derby in January 2012, coming on as a half time substitute for Ross Wallace. He made a total of 17 appearances for us, of which nine were starts, and scored one goal, an absolute stunner in a 2-1 win at Doncaster.

The Northern Ireland international was close to making his move to Turf Moor a permanent one at the time with Howe keen to sign him, and the pair did eventually get together again with both having returned to Bournemouth.
