To raise animals in German is 'zuechten' or possibly 'aufziehen'. Steigen simply mean to climb, to mount,or other similar terms.

An ex Burnley player, Arthur Good Friend. Hasenhuttl doesn't strictly mean rabbit hutch, since Ein Hase in German is a hare. Schweinsteiger means 'pig mounter' in German, which is comparable which Bergsteiger, a mountain climber.
