Re: 1947 FA Cup Final

I was born the day after the 1947 FA Cup final (27-04-1947). My dad, who had a ticket, couldn’t go because of my arrival into the world and I don’t think he ever forgave me for spoiling what would have been a special day out. He had been to every other round of the cup but missed out on the big one....

I don't think Bardsley is a great defender; he backs off too far too boften allowing players into to box and into dangerous positions. Having said that he is the better option of the two at the moment. However, a new right back is needed.

He is now 4th choice striker behind Wood, Rodriguez and Barnes. He is not going to get any real opportunities, we may as well try and sell him to try and recoup some cash, get a body off the wage bill and use that to get a good midfielder. Shame for him but it's not going to work for him at Burnley.

I've been told by a guy who has a box (he keeps his old conkers in it up in his loft) that he is going back because, in training, he can't launch the ball far enough up the training pitch in one go. Good luck to the lad, he'll always be a claret legend in my eyes.
