Very sad news indeed. For some unknown reason I can still clearly remember, as if it was yesterday, Leighton playing cricket at Lowerhouse. Probably because the sun was shining!!! That must have been early 70s. Absolutely fantastic player for the Clarets.

For me a minimum requirement for a head of state would be an ability to use a fountain pen. I know that is setting the bar quite low but this current incumbent can’t even do that.

I didn’t know who Natalie Bromley was until it was explained above. I guess when reality finally kicks you in the teeth it can have a way of making you re-assess your initial views. Mind you, the little piece itself was OK. Stating the obvious really.

Went to St Teds where the careers advice in 1970/71 was pretty useless. Bummed around for a year with no clue what to do and then my Dad saw an Ad. in the paper for the Civil Service. Apply to Alencon Links in Basingstoke. Never heard of the place (now live about 15/20 mins from there). At 17 moved ...

I think for me the tipping point is that this has been done by the Chairmans daughter and as such has a level of official patronage that I am not comfortable with. In the true sense of the term AI, we are not using it yet. Computers are not self aware. It was a bit of a strange day for me. I had to work that day. I share Spirals concerns maybe not as deeply but they are there.
