Norbreck. Blackpool. A unique smell. Each wall of my room was from a different generation. The plumbing and facilities were pre-historic. And my mate had a tramp asleep in his bed after he’s checked in. A stunning place.

A great picture from the Orient game of a section of the Longside that was predominantly chaps who travelled home and away, and had a fondness for a smart jumper or tracksuit top. Many a recognisable face in there. Wouldn’t want to go through that again though.

As it says, staying down before our game - and looking for any recommendations as to where may be best to watch the England game on Saturday night? Looking online there’s loads of sports bars come restaurants. However we’d prefer a decent boozer with ample tv’s / a big screen. Any help welcome please.

Each restaurant had a number on opening. For instance, Market Street in Manchester was number 100 which opened in 1984. This was the flagship at the time. Close to this time was 103 - Bury. I remember in the 70s someone handing out song sheets on the Longside with No Nay Never on one side (full verses and chorus) and Walking in a Winter Wonderland on the other (the crass song about Man Utd and the Munich disaster). Song sheets would work but can't see anyone bothering this day and age...

My first season ticket was 74/75. My clear recollection is that we were singing this on a regularly basis then and / or shortly after. My clearest recollection is that it certainly featured prominently in the away end at Boundary Park in the Anglo Scottish Final.

I’d guess at 75/76 78 had a clear no man land by my recollection. 77 -? think there was a divide - but certainly only a short throw away. Nets were not introduced “fully” till much later. I know because I took a brick on the head against Newcastle. That was an experience under the CFS surrounded by ...
