Re: Ten years ago today

I was behind enemy lines (and also directly behind the line of Patto's goal). Very difficult to control myself when both goals went in. The Claret support was incredible that night. I was so proud of the club. Couldn't resist singing '"You'll always be a Claret" along with the away end when super Gl...

Re: 4 penalty incidents

The more I watch it, the more I'm convinced Taylor actually plays the ball. Therefore no penalty.

Hart Lowton Long Mee Ward Lennon Cork Defour Brady Vydra Wood I make that a total of 51 letters over all of the surnames (surely a record outside of S Korea or China)......and in order to keep the total down I can find no place for JBG, Hendrick and Westwood. It also explains why Wood keeps his plac...

Re: OT: Best Spy / Cold War Films

The Lives of Others won an Oscar for best foreign language film about 10 years ago. Set in East Germany in the early 80's. Thought it was a cracker. Much more realistic than Deutschland 83. Worth a watch.

I like it. It will also work if Longy or Charlie ever appear.

Re: what has changed, and why are we so good suddenly ?

The back 5 including Pope are settled and always have been. To me the difference is playing 4-5-1 and getting Defour into the game. For some reason Defour hasn't worked in a 4-4-2. With Cork, Hendrick and Defour in the middle of midfield we look so much more balanced and therefore much harder to bre...

Sacked after losing to Burnley

This morning's news about Frank de Boer makes me wonder if there are many other mangers sacked immediately after losing to Burnley. Steve Coppell of Reading springs to mind but I think he just gave up.

The big 7 clubs are streets ahead of everyone else but only 10 points separate the 8th and 17th placed teams with just 2 games to go.
Could we not finish 18th?

Re: Stephen Ward

He sat in the dug out in the second half still in his kit but with a big ice pack strapped to his knee. Obviously an injury but not sure how serious.
