Re: Danny Drinkwater

I think I saw that Cork and Westwood covered the most ground in today’s game. The way we set up isn’t for our central midfielders to have a particularly active role in attacks, although I recall Cork did well for Barnes’ goal. So whilst neither are flash players or what you might want to see from a ...

Re: City v Spurs

That was a slightly different issue because the goal was never given. Plenty of fans hoped that VAR would overturn the ref's decision to disallow it, but you wouldn't really say they were "appealing". Yes different issue for sure, but nobody thought that Barnes was offside other than the ...

Fantastic referee. Scott wasn't exactly terrible last week but when you compare his game to how effortless Dean officiated this game it's no wonder that some get frustrated and mark low. Turn that around though - if that ball was going to Jesus, the 2 players challenged for the header, and it flicked of the Spurs player's arm - there would have been no VAR review, and no penalty awarded, because there's a black and white rule for attacking, saying if it hits the hand accidental or ...

Agree. Providing the defending team get penalised in the same way when they save a shot that is on target with their hand. We shall see whether that happens for fairness. Happy enough for those kinds of goals to be ruled out. Why should you be allowed to gain an advantage by using your arm which leads to a goal? All this ‘it’s unfair on City’ stuff is b0llocks.
