Whilst it was only advice it was always going to be ignored by a number of people. It seems like a large majority of companies and individuals took the advice on board. I don’t think the small minority of ‘idiots’ have really lead to the lockdown. It was inevitable as we’ve seen in other countries.

Most people's do exceed that, it's done for profitability & efficiency in terms of delivery, if you go over a certain amount or on a certain day/time the slots are free, - subject to different supermarkets & offers.
