There is a clear reason why Villa want Heaton for £10m when they could have Hart for free, because Heaton is a far far better keeper. Being club captain and such an influential player in the club, it would be absolute madness to sell him to Villa.

What's very revealing is that Aston Villa want an experienced Premier League keeper, there is one available that would cost significantly less than Heaton, but Hart has never been rumoured to be of interest to them, which really says it all about the relative capability of the two keepers.

I rang the ticket office Saturday, Sunday and Monday and the phone was never answered. As requested on the answering service left a message but nobody got back. I then spoke to the main reception today who put me through and they were then very helpful.

I remember reading before the end of the season the Chairman saying that Burnley had started planning early for the opening of the transfer window to gain an advantage, words that probably haunt and embarrass him now.
