Looked like the defender completely missed the ball with thr challenge and then accidentaly got a touch on it after he had flattened Odobert. Interesting that potential contract clause mentioned again.

I see Chris Iwelumo said yesterday that he had heard there was a clause in Traffords contract he has to play 75% of first team matches and added if it is true it’s an absolute disgrace , which it would be. With respect, I was there and he had a steady game apart from that huge clanger. You can’t judge his performance going off 5live! Even worse is that VAR encourages diving, because if you dive and in the process of doing so the opposition player makes the most minimal of contact, the VAR is likely to give the pen, and almost certain to if the on field ref already has. I agree and VAR makes the decision making process worse as ...

On the refs mic’d up, Webb did his usual ‘another decision which splits opinion’ and gives us a ‘subjective view’ for the Luton goal. The worst for me isn’t even on the list , the hand ball at Villa when Foster was going for goal. The Villa defender knocks the ball away with his arm, clear for everyone to see but ignored by the ref and VAR . Coming after Berger sending off that would have changed the whole dynamic of the game again.
