Re: FA cup final 1914

Cheers Edlass, Funnily enough, spotted the wall on that map. wall.jpg And yes, I know I wasn't dreaming, now i'm convinced it was either the world's first ginormous climbing wall, or the Blackpool Pleasure Beach Ride Space Invaders looped through it's own black hole and landed in 1914 South London ...

Re: Can anyone name these players (50s or 60s)?

Thanks, " CT " ... I don't know if there's a way you can get a message to MartinP and Streeterpingfellow, as I don't know if they've seen it. I know " Streeter " was very keen to identify the players, because his late father was on the picture. Eintracht also sent me a current photo of the pennant ...

Re: Can anyone name these players (50s or 60s)?

How old would your dad have been then? Could it be 1967? If it is the Frankfurt players, I wasn’t so far out suggesting Hamburg. It’s a cracking photo. Taking a Poirot type stance, it looks like a wedding ring on the right hand, common on the Continent  That’s some real detective work This is my guess ..... Lothar Schamer and Jurgen Grabowski of Eintracht Frankfurt, so that would make it April 1967 ... 8-) Edit: Some reasoning , 1) If " CT "...

My reply was somewhat tongue in cheek, as I know you'd have requested tapes, if you'd wanted them. :D Truth is I, on the one hand want shut of all this clutter, but on the other, can't bear to just chuck it out! The only DVDs I have are from our 2009 promotion season. I loved your dad. Can’t believe it’s eight years ago. Proper gent and always stopped me every time I saw him at the game. Only played football for him for a season or so but easily my favourite manager I played for along with my own dad. Great sense of humour and a proper football man and a decent ...

Re: Dad

Lost my Dad (58) nearly 8 years in 2012. I often sit there and wonder what he would have thought of where we are now and what has happened to the club under Dyche. Going to matches alone after he died wasn’t much fun and took some getting used to (even if it was just to argue about what was happenin...

Proset were absolute class. The quality and design was superb. Absolutely right when you say the cards now aren't as good in quality. The Match attax cards they make now are nowhere near as durable.

You can see more of the mountain railway in these pics. I think they were quite popular attractions in this period.
