Re: Ode on Melancholy

My favourite poem ;- Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that goodnight. Good men, the l...

It is a shame that we never saw the best of him.

Though with hindsight, hopefully a wake up call to the club on signing older players at the end of their careers.

Re: Who will be our manager next season?

A serious answer to a supposedly daft question. Last summer SD was un-sackable. Not so now. The directors are businessmen. They will know what's going on within the club, which way we are heading. They will analyze the task in front of them this summer. I would be surprised if SD is still with us ne...

Re: Be proud we are still punching way above weight

One of the main reasons why Stoke & WBA got relegated was because they became stale, which is what we are now doing. Same type of player, same style of play - predictable. Other teams work on this and know how to nullify it. Football players are all relatively young and need to change, progress,...

I will support Burnley long after Dyche has gone, no matter which League we ply our trade.

Dyche has to go in the summer.

Even the directors can't enjoy watching that, no matter how much money is in the bank.

He is totally devoid of changing his style of play.

Re: Relegation is imminent

We have become stale, predictable and the things we were so good at last season, have gone. We're conceding soft, sloppy, late and goals at critical times. It's difficult to see where we'll pick up the, probably, required two more wins to stay up on current form. Very disappointed tonight. Exactly ...

You can bet the ranch on it being the same starting lineup as Liverpool.
However, I would expect SD to change the format pretty quickly if we go behind.
This is a game between two similar teams and one that I think SD will be targeting for points.

Midfield struggling to play as a team, doesn't help when we have the ball and give it away. It's hard enough trying to win it in the first place.

Selling Sam and taking Crouch is a good bit of business. As a business we are undoubtedly stronger, to the tune of approximately £5m. As a football team, we are probably the same. Sam is now a sub, behind both Wood & Barnes as the central striker, and , I think, behind Vydra as the second strike...
