What player, apart from a few dyed in the wool Bolton fans, would actually want to play for Bolton ?

Burnley Express, quoting SD. But in terms of any more new faces, he added: “Ones that we thought might go somewhere have gone away, and nothing else has moved any closer.” How long was the list for this scenario to happen ? Surely the prospect of being a millionaire and playing in the premier Leagu...

Re: Bolton

As Macca says, play the kids, regroup, start from afresh.

Feeling sorry for them doesn't earn any points, manipulation of the rules won't help them in the long run.

Just cut the cloth accordingly and start from the bottom.
They have history & a solid fan base from which to build.

It would be great to see them all bu##er off for two years extolling their virtues and then ask, through gritted teeth, if they can return, as the novelty of finishing second or third bottom in a super League is crap.

Another for Bank Hall.

Re: ARTICLE: One of our own has made his way home

Excellent signing. Skill, experience, devotion & fan appreciation. Ticks all the boxes. Thank the lord we have signed him rather than Crouch. The football will be far far better just having him in the squad as he is a football player. If we keep hold of Dwight & Tarks that will be a successf...

A good experienced signing which strengthens the squad.

I do, however, feel that we are treading water, as opposed to going forwards.
That is more of an observation of the current climate rather than a dig at the club.

Re: Erik Pieters - BOOM!!!!

I thought the idea of an understudy / cover was to get a young up and coming guy who learnt his trade from the first team player.
He then slots into the first team when a player gets injured or suspended, retires or gets transferred.
But what do I know.
Good luck Erik.

I'm going for 14th.
We will do better than last season but the mid table games will be harder to get points. ( Palace, Everton etc )

He cultivated a character that was appropriate at the time and was the reason he became successful.
Unfortunately he didn't change tack with the times and became an unsavoury character at the end.

Whatever one's opinion he was certainly a character.

I think it's time the directors grew a set of balls and tell SD Crouch is not coming back at any cost.
Then blast that Mike Rigg fellow to find someone decent to replace him.

No facts, generalised theory, scattergun approach to an extremely competitive and complicated part of the football season.

It's great that he is training with us. An experienced pro and a new face on the training ground can only help and add interest to what is , probably, the most boring part of being a footballer, pre season training.

If the player doesn't want to come to Burnley, it's not the fault of anyone at Burnley, it's just someone's perception of the green grass outside of Birmingham.
