Yep, really liked Kurt and rated him highly........until he left to join the nobbers and couldn't stop scoring against us. Sadly Gifton didn't seem to get any leeway and seemed to constantly miss easy chances. Think it turned out he also had dodgy knees, if my memory serves me right, which made him ...

Hi Beehole, excellent quiz again. However, I know it's hard work and a long night keeping track of all the answers and it's just for fun, but do I not get points for Jim Smith, maybe? You already gave me points Kitchen and Brian Bromley?

Adrian Randell… worshipped by some, seen as lazy and too casual by others Loved Ady Randall, but another that used to frustrate the hell out of me and maybe many others. Jean Louis Valois. I couldn't stand the fella. He was a flair player who won over the crowd with cheeky step-overs and jinking runs, but he wouldn't deliver that final ball - However, he scored good goals. I was one of JLV's fans, however he frustrated the living daylights out of me because I wante...

John Pender - I'm sure I remember people putting 'og' after his last name, due to the number of own goals he apparently scored. But formed good defensive partnerships with Steve Davis MK1 and MK2 (I think?) Sure I remember Gareth Taylor getting some pelters from some fans because of his lack of pace...

I think your post is a bit strange and seems to have it in for me as a fan that's simply pointing out this season is shocking and I'm bored of the excuses - we're literally on pace for less than 21 points which is absolutely honking. Absolutely nothing strange about my post at all. You started the ...

Re: JJ Watt...
It's the Premier League mate. I don't think the side is performing like it should and these are highly paid professionals. I'm critical of Trafford because I don't believe he's done anything to warrant his continued inclusion at all and I'm more than happy to be proven wrong on that. Same with Amdo...

I will also add CoolClaret, that you don't exactly help yourself in being highly critical of not only VK, but young players like Trafford and Amdouni. They are not only young men, but are trying to adapt to life at a new club, a new country (in Amdouni's case) and the Premier League. Not easy by a l...

That's not quite what I was alluding to, no. JJ's over for an extended period, not just a one off game - it's the business end of the season and come the end of March we will probably know where we're more than likely to be playing football next season and it's likely a time where plans for the sum...

Re: Ref watch on Sky
Shay Given said no foul to even it out Except, a former striker in Michael Owen thought it was a foul on Trafford. The bottom line is though, that if it had been Given in Trafford's situation, you can put money on that he would be calling a foul on him. Likewise, if Owen had been in Adebayo's situa...

Re: Ref watch on Sky
It's a clear foul on Trafford. Trafford's is watching the flight of the ball in order to position himself to make the jump to catch the ball. However, Adebayo clearly stops Trafford from setting himself to jump, by making a move to block his path. This knocks Trafford out of his stride and off balan...

Really wish I could have watched the Mighty Clarets live back in those days.
Also makes me wonder what we were like back in the 1920/21 championship winning season.

Yes, it seems like in the Gazette report, re-reading it, the 1st half kicked off as a football match and the 2nd half resumed as a rugby match with tries being scored.
It's all very murky, which makes it even more interesting.

Very interesting, as reading that, it kind of assumes that there was a mixture of codes in that match, seemingly London and Sheffield. Also interesting to note the kick off time of 3pm, as that is the time the FA adopted for it's kick off times. Coincidence though, maybe?
