Unfortunately cock-ups, mistakes, blunders, etc seem to be systemic and not just the odd one-off. I don't understan it.

Not really. It's called capitalism. You may be someone who puts his hard earned cash into a non-profit organisation and doesn't expect any returns or interest but most people expect a return on their investment and this is what happened to the privatised utility companies. If you take time to read ...

I booked a non refundable £2k holiday yesterday, to leave on Saturday for the EU. Today, after seeing the BBC website, never having heard the 10 year rule, I checked my passport and despite having plenty of time left it was 10 years and 3 months since issue. I then checked the Urgent 1 Day passport...

Thinking back to yesterday’s winner for Man Utd. Should a player who celebrates a goal by whipping his shirt off for a few seconds be given a yellow and as we saw yesterday then potentially sent off. He didn’t foul anyone or swear at the ref. It seems that yellow cards are thrown around so easy the...

Re: Kick off after a goal.
Nice info. In my time the rules were that after a goal was scored the possesson of the ball went to the conceding side, sometimes to the frustration of the scorers if they were still behind. Don't know if that's still the case but there's always a scrap over the ball. Just checked and it's covered ...

In the mid 19th centaury Montague Bertie (Earl of Abingdon) didn't think t...
