Re: Lancashire League Cricket
Darwen lost early. After that result, Burnley only needed to pick up a no result or the odd bonus point, but looked like winning anyway, so it would have been logical to take the trophy to Lowerhouse as soon as Darwen lost. How long does it take from Darwen to Lowerhouse on the motorway? 15 minutes...

Unfortunately real ale drinkers popping in for an occasional pint doesn't keep pubs going. They do if enough real ale drinkers pop in for an occasional pint. I suggest you have a day out in Halifax, Sowerby Bridge or even Todmorden for evidence of this. All 3 locations have a thriving real ale scene.

Great recovery from Burnley today after the depressing no-show last week. Ocky and Big Joe McCluskey batted superbly and we're backed up by excellent bowling of Fergus Bailey and Trip. Very tight at the top of this league this season.

An indication of just how far that club has fallen from grace must be the pre-match parade of their players who finished RUNNERS UP in division 1,
(division 3 in old money,) during season 2000-2001.
The rovers fans must have felt truly inspired after that!

It was a superb opening performance by Burnley, Ocki again, the star performer. 38 with the bat then followed up with a superb 7 for 18. Burnley look a good bet for honours this season. Two good signings in Dec Bailey, to add to add to the batting, and Harry Snowden a genuine quickie from Settle.
