Re: Assisted dying
So sorry to hear that Lowbank. I hope everyone in this awful situation finds peace. I think with the right safeguards in place this has to be in place. Having seen both my father and father in law, die from cancer, its a option I'm sure both would have taken. Its not just life that is ultimately tak...

Re: I miss you
Weird to think you have gone Darren. We grew up together as cousins, but because of being 8 months apart, in age, and our "Mums childcare system" we were more like brothers growing up. We shared our first legal beer, and that vile illegal thunderbird drink at the park. As young adults our lifes went...

Sorry for your loss Sackville and I can totally sympathise with everyone on this thread who had lost loved ones to this horrible disease. My mum passed away from pancreatic cancer aged just 46 back in 1976 when sadly the chances of survival then after diagnosis was virtually nil :-( Vintage Claret,...

Re: Pancreatic cancer
So sorry to hear of your loss. This cancer has plagued my family in the last 20 years. My Dad in 2006, his sister in 2020. Numerous cousins in their 50s and 60s. 10 family members. Sadly no survivors (Is it even survivable?) Shortest time was 8 days, Longest was 11 months. My dad was three months. I...

Yes it’s Horizon. And it’s only Tesco on site. Officially that is, people also us it for a couple of shops nearby. From what I can gather locally, a lot of this has to do with amount of folk parking here and going to the Abbey stadium half a mile away. But like I said earlier seem to be jumping on e...

I saw a post on here a while back, ref a parking fine from a private parking firm at a supermarket. I was just wondering if there’s a update available? Over the years, I have been amazed by the brilliant responses to people having a mental health crisis. Whilst not right now, I have in the past been at very low points with depression. One of the ways I was helped by a counsellor, was to write about somebody I missed. It can be anybody, human, anima...

The Kinks, The Seekers, and a couple of Jim Reeves songs. Will never forget playing some CDs to me dad, in his final days with cancer.
He sang along to "Precious Lord" and "Distant drums" He passed away a few days later. Very apt we played them at his cremation.

Too young to remember this game.
Not sure if this is the game? My dad told of a game at Hillsborough, I believe against Newcastle, of being a death trap waiting to happen. Long before the 1989 events.
