Re: On this day
25 years ago today since we beat Macclesfield at home 4-3. Little, Cowan (overhead), Payton and Davis (last minute). We'd been 2-0 down and this game was probably the start of Stan's team finally taking shape. I'm not sure we lost for the rest of the season? My perception is that this match was a m...

I think you've got to factor in where we were potentially heading at the end of the 87 season and where we're heading now. Where we're going to be next season isn't where any of us wanted to be or envisaged being, but it's still a whole lot better and in 1987 we'd have given anything for that. Havin...

It was rightly banned to stop players making "statements" whether political or otherwise, but I also think there needs to be a curbing on some of the more outlandish celebrating. Coaches, subs, youth players, all invading the pitch to pile on the goalscorer is becoming ridiculous and the amount of t...

Trafford has come in for a lot of flack this season, rightly or wrongly, but I think most would agree he will develop into a quality goalkeeper. He started the season as our number one, aged 20. He turned 21 last October. To even be considered in the PL at that age you need to have something about ...

I've often said he's great in the opposition half, but not a great defender and never a full back, but credit where it's due, he single handedly created our second (winning) goal by messing up, chasing back, not giving the easy foul and actually winning the ball. Fair play to the lad!

In premier league terms Brentford are average and actually, this season somewhat below. We've played a number of teams who fall into that bracket (e.g. Palace, Bournemouth) and they've still proved much too strong for us, so I'm assuming it will be exactly the same tomorrow unfortunately.
